I have two BLDC motors running on VESC-based controllers and I need them responding smoothly to a radio-frequency hand-held remote. The goal is true “tank style” drive: forward, reverse, pivot left or right, plus proportional speed and braking on each trigger. Here is what I still need done: • Bind and map the RF receiver to both VESCs so every channel on the remote translates cleanly to speed, braking and direction. • Set safe current limits, regenerative and active braking parameters, and be sure neither motor over-currents under stall conditions. • Calibrate RPM and refine torque curves so the response is even across the whole throttle range. • Synchronise the two controllers over CAN so they act like one power-train without cogging or desync at high load. I work with VESC Tool and can flash firmware if you supply the settings files; otherwise feel free to propose your own workflow. Deliverables are: 1. Complete VESC configuration files (.json or .xml) ready to upload. 2. A short step-by-step on pairing the RF remote and any receiver wiring diagrams. 3. Confirmation video or log files showing smooth bidirectional drive, braking and zero-lag turn-in at the calibrated RPM targets. If you are comfortable squeezing the last bit of performance out of VESC hardware while keeping everything within safe electrical limits, let’s get this dialled in.

Hi I am an embedded systems engineer with over 12 years of experience in BLDC motor control, VESC configuration, CAN-linked drive systems and RF/RC control integration. I can help tune your dual VESC setup for true tank-style operation with smooth forward/reverse, pivot turning, proportional braking and safe current behavior under heavy load or stall conditions. My approach would be to first confirm the receiver channel outputs and wiring, then map throttle/brake/direction cleanly into VESC Tool, set motor and battery current limits, tune regen/active braking, calibrate RPM limits and adjust torque response so both sides feel matched across the trigger range. I can also configure CAN master/slave behavior so the controllers behave as one drivetrain without cogging or desync. I can provide upload-ready VESC configuration files, a concise pairing/wiring guide, and help review logs or test videos to verify bidirectional drive, braking response and turn-in at the calibrated RPM targets. A few details I would like to confirm are the exact VESC model, motor specs, battery voltage/current capability, receiver type and whether the remote outputs PWM, PPM, UART or another signal format. Please contact me to discuss details.

Hi, I have experience with BLDC motor control, VESC configuration, CAN bus communication, and remote-control vehicle systems, and I can help optimize your dual-motor setup for smooth tank-style operation. The primary technical challenge in this project is achieving reliable CAN synchronization, proper steering mixing, and safe current/braking limits while preventing cogging, desync, or over-current conditions under heavy load. I can provide fully configured VESC settings files, receiver mapping, current and RPM tuning, braking configuration, and step-by-step setup documentation for future adjustments in VESC Tool. Before proceeding, I would like to confirm the exact VESC models, motor specifications (KV, power, sensored or sensorless), battery voltage/BMS limits, and the RF remote/receiver protocol being used. I would also like to understand whether maximum performance or smooth controllability is the primary objective and if any desync or fault conditions are already present. Based on this information, I can deliver a tuned and documented configuration package along with remote support during validation testing. I am available to start immediately and look forward to discussing your system in more detail. Regards.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've worked extensively with VESC-based motor control systems and understand that achieving smooth tank-style drive requires much more than simply mapping RC channels. The key is properly tuning current limits, braking behavior, throttle curves, CAN communication, and motor parameters so both controllers respond as a single drivetrain. I can help with: • RF receiver binding and channel mapping • Differential/tank steering configuration • Current-limit and stall-protection setup • Regenerative and active braking tuning • RPM, ERPM, and torque curve calibration • CAN bus synchronization between both VESCs • Desync, cogging, and response optimization • Validation of forward, reverse, pivot, and proportional steering behavior Deliverables: • Complete VESC configuration files ready for upload • Receiver wiring and setup documentation • Step-by-step tuning procedure • Verification logs/screenshots and testing guidance Proposed Milestones: Hardware review and receiver configuration Motor detection and baseline tuning CAN synchronization and differential steering setup Performance optimization and final configuration package A few questions: Which VESC hardware version are you using? What RF system/receiver is installed? Are the motors sensored or sensorless? What battery voltage and motor power ratings are involved? I can help get the system tuned for smooth, responsive control while keeping both motors safely within their electrical and thermal limits.

Dear Client, This VESC Motor Control & RF Remote system should not be treated as a simple wiring or setup task. The real challenge is building a stable, high-performance dual BLDC drivetrain that delivers precise tank-style control, smooth torque response, and failsafe protection under real load conditions without desync, lag, or current spikes. I can help design and implement the complete control strategy, VESC tuning architecture, and RF integration system required to achieve reliable and consistent dual-motor performance. My focus would be: ✅ design and map RF control signals to both VESC controllers for accurate proportional throttle, braking, and directional control ✅ configure strict current limiting, regen braking, and stall protection to prevent motor or ESC damage under extreme load ✅ tune throttle curves and RPM response for smooth acceleration, stable low-speed control, and predictable handling ✅ synchronize both VESC units via CAN bus to ensure both motors act as a single unified drivetrain without desync or jitter Two quick questions: 1. What RF remote system and receiver model are you currently using (or planning to use)? 2. Are both motors identical in specification, or do they have different KV ratings or load characteristics? If you message me, I can first outline the full system architecture, wiring plan, VESC parameter structure, and tuning workflow before moving into configuration and final optimization. I specialize in system design, programming, integration, and troubleshooting for industrial automation projects, including VESC-based tank-drive tuning with Electrical Engineering discipline. PLC programming and configuration (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.) experience helps me structure safe channel mapping, CAN coordination, limits, and commissioning workflow. Design and implementation of control logic and HMI interfaces translates here into proportional RF trigger logic, braking behavior, and bidirectional response verification. Integration with sensors, actuators, and other industrial equipment will support your receiver wiring, dual BLDC setup, Embedded Systems configuration files, and reliable CAN synchronization. System testing, debugging, and optimization will focus on Motor Control: current limits, regen/active braking, RPM calibration, torque curves, stall protection, logs, and smooth pivoting. Documentation, including electrical schematics, PLC logic diagrams, and user manuals will be adapted into VESC upload files, receiver wiring notes, pairing steps, and validation evidence. On-site support and commissioning (if required) can be replaced with remote guidance through VESC Tool, firmware/settings exchange, logs, and confirmation review. Respectfully, what RF receiver model, remote channel layout, VESC hardware version, motor KV/current ratings, battery voltage, and drivetrain load should the configuration target? - Anastasiia

I understand you need a precise, tank-style control system for two BLDC motors managed by VESC controllers, driven by an RF remote. My experience with VESC firmware configuration and custom control logic ensures smooth, proportional speed and braking for independent motor control, similar to a project where I implemented proportional steering for a multi-motor robotic platform. I will configure the VESC firmware on both controllers using VESC Tool, establishing secure binding and mapping of the RF receiver channels to individual motor speed and direction commands. This will include setting specific current limits, regenerative braking, and active braking profiles within VESC Tool to prevent over-current and ensure safe operation under stall conditions, culminating in calibrated RPM and refined torque control for responsive performance. What is the specific make and model of the RF remote and receiver currently in use? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.
