Hello, My name is Maryam Sattari. I am a visual artist with over 20 years of experience in painting, illustration, and creative art. My background is in art and archaeology, and I have spent many years creating, teaching, and exhibiting artwork in my back home and Ontario, Vaughan. For the past two years, I have worked at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection as a gallery guide. During this time, I became closely familiar with Indigenous and First Nations art and the work of artists such as Norval Morrisseau, Daphne Odjig, and Kent Monkman. This helped me develop a deeper respect and understanding of First Nations cultural storytelling through art. My skills include visual arts, painting, illustration, mural painting, and art installation. I have experience creating murals in my home country and enjoy working on large-scale public artworks. I am experienced in using projectors and laser tools to accurately transfer designs onto large surfaces and working with durable outdoor paints and materials for mural painting.
