I’m looking to have an AI-driven assistant that can take the full text of any book—fiction or non-fiction—and return a clear, accurate summary. The goal is simple: drop in a manuscript or an e-book file and receive a well-structured overview that captures plot points, themes, and character arcs for novels while highlighting arguments, data, and conclusions for factual works. You are free to choose the underlying approach—whether a large language model, traditional NLP pipeline, or a hybrid method—as long as the final system runs locally or via an easily deployable API and produces consistent results on books of varying length. Python is my preferred language, but I’m open to alternatives if you can justify the choice. Please make sure the solution: • Accepts common formats (PDF, ePub, plain text). • Generates human-readable prose, not bullet fragments. • Includes a small demo script plus clear setup instructions. Once delivered, I’ll test it on several titles from both genres and sign off when the summaries faithfully reflect the source material without hallucinations or major omissions.
