I need a simple add-in developed for Microsoft Word. This add-in should add a menu item to the Office ribbon similar to the add-in item in the attached screenshot. On that section of the ribbon, there will need to be two buttons.
One button to login to a given website via RESTful API. This button will launch a login box, accept a user name and password, send it to the web service, and upon successful authentication receive back an authentication token to use in making future API calls.
The second button should be a button that makes an API call to get a list of objects in JSON format. It will need to then provide the user a friendly way (dialog box of some sort) to select one of those objects and make a second API call that uses the ID of the object selected to make a second API call for a separate set of objects related to the first one. An example response of the second API call is attached. The add-in will then need to take this data received and enter various fields into the Word document at the point where the cursor is currently positioned in the document. An example of the formatted Word document for the same API response is also attached.
That is it. The goal is to have this simple add-in that populates that data automatically formatted into the Word document. Only needs to be compatible with Office 2007 and 2010. I will expect installable version and source code. Thanks.
