Our company, a technology training and consulting firm, is looking to contract the development of a few training units similar to Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC), to be used in classroom software engineers training. Each unit is designed to completely cover a specific subject, and will be delivered by the trainer using it in 4-8 hours.

The subject matter is .NET 2 (Visual Studio 2005), focusing on new technology introduced beyond .NET 1.1 (Visual Studio 2003). At least four units are expected, although the contractor is invited to submit an alternative and more extensive unit scheme:

.NET Framework 2: architecture, refactoring, partial classes, generics, iterators, nullable types, anonymous methods, class library enhancements

[url removed, login to view] 2: asynchronous processing, bulk operations, multiple active resultsets, notifications, disconnected classes, schema discovery, caching

WinForms 2: ClickOnce, new data binding model, application settings, new layout and controls

ASP.NET 2: compile on demand, master pages, advanced data binding, state management, web parts, profiles and themes, security, configuration, provider model extensibility

Units must be provided in two forms: a PowerPoint deck used for presentation, and a Word document used for student's book. The student's book will be created by the contractor in conformance with our standard graphic template, and will be formatted with snapshot of each topic's slide and further student's notes following the slide. The content must be in excellent English, clear and of high-quality, and with a relatively high number of annotated code samples.

A sample of a material compatible with the requirements is available at [url removed, login to view]

The applicant must provide a sample of relevant training material developed previously by the contractor, preferrably in .NET but mandatory in software development technology of some kind. The contractor is also responsible for the development of a full table-of-contents, using the unit list and content above as a preliminary guideline. Contract proposals must be accompanied by a full table of contents proposed.

Delivery time is 6-8 weeks maximum total, and precedence will be given to vendors offering faster delivery time. Payment will be made by the units, so for a $1000 offer for 4 units, $250 will be paid for every completed unit submitted.
