Hi there, I am a Systems Traceability Expert with over 45 years’ experience in IT and Identification systems. You seem to be currently using an Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) system, which you are not really happy with? If this is the case it will not be capable of providing product tracking I am interested in helping you, but really need further information, can you provide me with the following data as soon as possible in order that I can provide a suitable Project Proposal. The questions are as: What environment is the project to be based in, Retail, Manufacturing, Office or another environment? What sizes are the products (smallest to largest)? Do you currently identify them individually or as one of a product line? What is the cost and sales value range of the products? How many different products are there? How many locations do you need to track each item through, from receipt to sale? Do any items get combined to produce a ‘new item’ during the movement process? Do you have any IT infrastructure at the moment, and if so what Software packages are you using? Do you have any timescales you have in mind for the project? Obviously there would be many other questions, should you wish to utilise me in this project, but the above will enable me to understand better you requirement and respond with a suitable project proposal.
