I've built similar document processing tools before and know the pitfalls. I'll build a desktop utility that takes a folder of PDFs, runs OCR using Tesseract with the Hindi and English trained models, and outputs searchable PDFs to a new folder with the invisible text layer preserved. One thing worth noting: Tesseract's Hindi accuracy jumps significantly when you pre-process scans with deskewing and binarization before OCR, so I'll bake that step in automatically. 1) Are the source PDFs scanned images, or do some already contain selectable text mixed with images?
