We are in the process of opening our first store. We have an online store and would like to be able to use our site for our retail sales system. This will help keep track of stock levels. The only database we would like shared is the stock levels, newsletter subscribers and products in the system. Other then that the retail store would use its own area in the database. The customer info and orders for the store would be kept under different area in admin. Maybe under a Retail section in admin. I have listed below what we would like to be done.
1.) Order Page - We would need to be able to enter the products when a customer brings them to the checkout counter. To make this easy we would like to have it so that we can enter a product code or product name and the system will pull up results from the database in real time.
On the order page we would need to be able to enter a customers personal info such as name, address, email, phone number, and if they would like to be in our newsletter, but we would not want there to be any required fields so if a customer does not want to provide info they don't have to.
2.) The sub total, total, taxes, discounts would need to be calculated on the same page in real time. For the discount coupons we could use the same code thats on the current checkout page.
3.) We would also need 3 fields on the checkout page, 1 for Cash, 1 for Credit Card, 1 for Debit. If a customer wants to pay with any mix of these it would calculate the total change to give or money owing still.
4.) We would need to be able to edit orders again later just in case a customer changes their mind. This should be logged in admin.
5.) We would like there to be a login page for employees so we can track who has entered/edited a sale. This could be reported in the admin for the admin to check over. So we would need to be able to add and remove access to the checkout page for each employee. Once they login they only have access to the edit order and new order page.
6.) We would like to be able to click print on the screen and an invoice with the store name/address, web address, special notes, customer name/address, products ordered including quantity, discounts, taxes, order totals and methods of payment. These would have to be in a nice and neat manner.
