We have a website called [url removed, login to view] that sells vintage jewelry.
The site is built on Wordpress 2.6.3. There are several issues that we would like to address.
1) Configure Paypal so that Shopping Cart’s Data is Automatically Sent Back to Wordpress
We currently sell products using a plugin called WP-Checkout from [url removed, login to view]
The plugin manages the inventory, prices, images, and shopping cart. It also forwards the customer to a paypal screen to pay for the contents of the cart.
The only issue is that when a user completes a purchase, they end up on the paypal receipt screen with a button that says “Return to Merchant.” If they click that button, all the data of the cart’s contents (ie, what products they ordered) is sent back to the wordpress site and we get an email notification of a new order. This is fine.
However, if the customer (after paying via paypal), does not click “Return to Merchant”, then none of the cart’s data is sent to us and it looks as though there was no order at all (even though the customer paid through paypal).
We would like to have paypal (or the cart) configured so that after a customer pays through paypal, their cart’s data is automatically sent back to wordpress without any clicking necessary on their part.
I think this requires either Paypal PDT or IPN but I’m not sure.
2) Remove “How Many” Feature in Shopping Cart
In the shopping cart system, each product has a page that is automatically generated by the shopping cart plugin. Each product page has an option of “How Many?”which refers to the quantity being purchased. Underneath it, the customer clicks ‘Add to Cart” and the product along with the quantity is added to the cart. Please see screenshot here: [url removed, login to view]
We are only going to be selling products that have a quantity of 1, so we would like to remove this option and have the value of 1 be built into the system. This probably requires changing a line in the product page generation code.
3) Change Menu Buttons to Image rather than Text
As you can see, the site has 4 menu buttons: Home, Store, Photos, Forum
We would like these converted to images (with an accompanying onmouseover image for each) instead of text. We are going to add new menu images later. The new images can be the same size as the current buttons.
4) Add an Additional Button to the Menu
We would like to add one more button (of the same size as the others) to the menu. Please see example mockup: [url removed, login to view]
5) Adjust Header to Remove Extra Space
We would like to remove extra space that appears above the logo, and also some of the space that is above the black line. Please see attached mockup:
[url removed, login to view]
6) Fix Slideshow on Homepage
The site uses a theme called f8 which features a jQuery-based slideshow (based on a plugin called ‘photo galleria’) on the homepage. The slideshow works fine and displays several different photos on the homepage as specified until I activate the wp-checkout plugin.
Then the slideshow no longer works. This seems to be due to the fact that both the wp-checkout plugin and the theme’s slideshow use jQuery and there is a conflict when they are both active at the same time (if you look at the source code for the homepage, you will see various references to jQuery, one for the photo-galleria plugin and one for the wp-checkout plugin).
If you cannot complete all 6 issues, please specify which issues you can complete in your bid.
More reference material can be provided upon request or when the project begins.
Also, if you would like to login to wordpress and look around before bidding, let me know and I will provide access details.
