We are looking for a competent programmer to write a Unix/Linux version of a CGI application that we are currently running on a Windows Web Server. The application works very similar to a basic form mail type program with a few exceptions. First, when you fill out the form and press the submit button, the CGI application references a settings (or .ini) file that resides in the CGI-BIN along with the application. This Configuration settings/.ini file is a very simple file that holds three lines of settings. These lines are the "TO:" email address to send the form, the SMTP Server, and the "From:" email address. Housing this file in the CGI-BIN keeps these settings secure as opposed to say [login to view URL] which keeps the "TO:" address in the HTML Code of the form page where it can be harvested by spammers. Secondly, this application takes the names of the fields in the form, and the data that has been placed into the fields and emails them to you in a .txt file that is sent as an attachment to the email as opposed to just sending the data in the body of the email itself. This is important as it allows us to import the data in the .txt file into our software as opposed to having to re-enter the data.
