I want have a script that combines "(part of ) articles" + "delay-feature" + "id to indicate which article to take".
I want to include this script in a html page (server side include) and of course the script should be fast !
* a file with (parts of) articles => parameter "file=...", so in the file itself I need to add a separator line like "--NEXT--", so
I can add simple text or even html in it !
* in the script itself I want a "delay"-feature, so I need to be able to set a variable to xxxx seconds (so I can set it to 86400
for 1 day), this means after xxxx seconds the script needs to move the first part of the file and put it behind everything (last !),
so the first becomes the last one.. this only one time !
* this one is very important : an "id", this id will tell which article to take : 1 => first one, 2 => second one, etc... =>
So I want 2 parameters in the url (file and id) and one variable in the script !
What does this mean ? I explain
Page 1 has id 1 in include script url
Page 2 has id 2 in include script url
Page x had id x in include script url
So each page will display the first day :
article 1 (for page 1), article 2 (for page 2), etc..
I keep the names from day 1 to explain this...
Second day.. the delay feature kicks off (if set to 1 day !!), article 2 (for page 1), article 3 (for page 2), etc... article 1 (for
page x), but id didn't change, this happened because article 1 was moved to the end of file each xxxx seconds !
And so on...
It is thanks to the given "id" that the script knows which article needs to go which page (parameter in url)...
Note !! Count correctly number of articles in the file ( last can be the separator and nothing behind it !!!)
If you only have 9 articles (or article parts) but you have 10 pages, then 2 same articles will appear on 2 pages.. article 1 on
page 1 and 10 !
If you only have 9 pages and 10 articles, then the 10th article will appear the second day on page 9...
I only pay via Paypal !! This is a simple script, but I don't have the time for the moment..
If you have any questions, send me a PM !
No need to have a database.. it is always a small number of (part of) articles.. no use to have more..
