We have an events schedule with the details of each event stored in a MySQL table.
Each event has the day, month, year, start time all individually specified in separate fields (not a timestamp). In the table, each event stores the id that connects it to the type of event.
What we are looking for is to create a calendar that displays our events and is as easy to use as the embedded calendar API that Google provides.
Currently we have incorporated the Google API at [url removed, login to view]
We think the Google API is great, however as you may be aware, it doesn't have the facility to automatically integrate with our database and so we are managing 2 lots of data entry on our own system, and then in the google system.
The features we are looking for with this custom calendar is:
- the ability to flick between views of 'week', 'month'
- to be able to click forward or backwards in the current view so if May is selected, and you click forward, June comes up
- to click on an event in the calendar and have a hover display which sources the event information from our db with a link to to the event page, or the booking page.
Like the google calendar, we want ours to be able to operate very quickly without page refreshes and we want it to be intuitive and have good style to it. e.g rounded corners on the hover information etc.
We would like to see an example before committing to a bid to check your style and functionality and would prefer to work with somebody who has created this type of solution before so that its really just a matter of plugging it in and not beginning from scratch.
I have attached a screenshot of an example of the calendar I am looking for. As you can see when looking in the weekly view it shows the span of time of the event.
