101585 Sending HTML message from PHP

I have the following script which sends out an email to a new user. The $user and $password items are supposed to be replaced with the person's username and password. It works fine if I send it as a plain message, but I would like to send it as an HTML message. Unfortunately, it now just sends out the words $user and $password without replacing them with the correct items.

Can anyone help me out with this please? I'm sure it's nothing major.
