A website that is database driven and fully scaleable with a admin, member admin, and user component. There will be a sign-in page that will allow someone to setup their own “tag sale” on the site. There will be a charge for this with different levels of pricing: $10 – for 10 items up to $50 for 100 items per month (bronze, silver, gold, platinum membership levels). Their payment can be either paypal, or they can mail a check.
Required fields: Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Phone, Cell phone, email, Membership level, Amount due, contract Term, Active/inactive, start date, end date, Tagsale Name, password
Once they register, based on the level they choose, they go to their own login page. Once they are logged in, they will have a total number of items they can upload based on their membership level. This should be shown on the page, ie. Items left to upload: 10. For each item they load, the following fields should exist:
Required fields: item name, price, category, status (sold/available) description, make offer, show price, both. (I would want them to be able to choose to either show the price, or not show the price and just have make an offer – it would be up to them), Image (They can upload up to 3 images of the product) We would need a browse button/upload tool for this. The image uploader should automatically resize the image to 400px wide web resolution – this is important in case someone tries to upload a 3 meg file from their digital camera, I would want the program to automatically resize it for them.
Each time they upload a product, the total number of items they have left should be decreased by one. Once they reach their max, they should be told they can not upload any more items and be given the option to upgrade their plan.
On the site itself for the general public, it would be setup with a listing of tagsales (Tagsale name) and the city that it is in. When you click on that tagsale name, you will be shown all of the items that person has to list (like an eBay store). There should also be a way to search by category, and keyword (that would look at the item name and description fields). This way the user can either search items by category, item keyword, or tagsale name/location.
Once they select they will go to a formatted page for each tagsale “vendor” where they can see all the items.
On the item page, it should display a main picture with a link to the other two (small thumbnails), the item name, description, and price (if they choose to show it). Beneath that would be a MAKE AN OFFER button. There should also be a CONTACT The seller button to ask a question.
If someone chooses to make an offer, then the offer should be emailed to the Tag sale “vendor” and stored as a pending offer in their individual admin section. It should be listed as well in the main site admin section as a pending offer.
From the admin the vendor has the choice to accept the offer in which they will work out the payment and delivery with the buyer, or they can deny or counter offer.
Once the items sells, it should be shown as “sold” in the system for a period of 1 week, and that person will be able to add another product to replace the one they sold up to the max number of their chosen plan. So if they have a total of 10 items and they sell 1, then can upload another item as soon as they mark the first one SOLD.
The Main site admin, should all full override control over any “Vendor” account. There should also be an accounting system built in so we can track the money that is owed and paid for from vendors. I would be nice to have a invoicing component too so we can bill right from the site as well.
I would also want reporting to show number of items listed, number of Vendors, and number of items sold. So we can keep track of how well the site is doing.
To summarize, this will be an application that is similar to Ebay, but MUCH MUCH simpler. I want the interface for vendors to upload items and sign up to be simple, all done on one page. It has to be very easy to use. Consider the “vendors” like an ebay store.
The site should be scaleable so we can branch out into other areas so eventually there would be a spot to choose which city/state, that you want to look for vendors in.
This should be a VERY SIMPLE APPLICATION SETUP. I will design all the graphics for the site. I will also want to use Google Analytics for monitoring site traffic.
The site would be similar to /[url removed, login to view]
