We'd like the USDA Nutrient Database transferred to a mysql database, with php pages for displaying and searching for information.
Example sites include:
This would use the latest USDA SR18 files from the USDA at [login to view URL]
We would not need all nutrients that are provided by them. We would need calories, total fat, saturated fat, monounsaturated fat, polyunsaturated fats, protein, sugar, sodium, fiber, cholesterol, and total carbohydrates.
The USDA files provide nutrition info for several sizes of each food, usually per 100 grams, 1 ounce, or a serving size (which can vary) We'd like each of those to be available to the user. They could be in separate html tables on the same page, or they could be available by selection as this example shows with a drop box: [login to view URL]
We would also need a simple admin control panel where we could enter new foods. However, instructions for entering via phpmyadmin would suffice, depending on cost.
You would create the php page with a basic table to display the nutrients and we would integrate it into our existing website after the project is finished. The dynamic pages from this project would need to be search engine friendly via mod_rewrite. It should also include a basic search so users can search for specific foods.
We are happy to answer any questions, and look forward to your bids.
