I would like to start a free information-based website that allows users to rate restaurants in a [url removed, login to view] type of way--but be extremely unique. I understand that there are many websites already out there that do this, which is why I want the website to also allow restaurant employees (servers, busboys, hosts/hostesses, cooks, managers) to be able to rate what it's like to work there based on several criteria (tips/wage, management, etc.) in a [url removed, login to view] fashion. These ratings would also be easily searchable and accessible to all users so that they can view what it's like to dine or work at a particular restaurant--I assume this would be how I would get most of my hits.
Users (guests or employees) who wish to rate a restaurant will have to sign in or briefly create an account (minimum info. like email) in order to maintain the integrity of the ratings—again, the way [url removed, login to view] does it.
I would want to run this site as a profitable business based on ad revenue (which I know takes time to establish). The website will need to begin by being designed for San Diego/Southern Cal, and then able to rapidly expand nationally.
I think that (as a former waiter of several years) if done right, this website can be highly profitable and attract a wide user base.
The site would need to be self-contained in that users could add new restaurants themselves and the site would automatically update the ratings itself.
There will need to be constant maintenance, but it will be more of a part time thing...
Initial budget to start it up is $100-300.
