We require a .NET software developer to generate an engine to generate schedules (also called fixture list in some parts of the world) for a soccer league. This will also be used in different sports in the future.
All schedules are generated from templates which will be provided by the company. The engine needs to take the information provided by the league e.g. team name, division name, field name, and place it in the appropriate template so that there are no clashes with other teams in the league.
There are many situations where the algorithm will become complicated. For example: when a team shares a field with another team on the same night from a different division, so you need to make sure that when one team is home in their division, the other team is away in their division.
It will not always be possible to generate a schedule without any clashes, so the league may have to fix some of the clashes by hand ??" but undesirable.
The company will also provide the following to the chosen developer:
a) Test data (MS SQL 2000 database exports) and scenarios so that the developer can test that the engine is working correctly before handing the Test Candidate (Alpha release) to us for testing.
b) An example of how the engine would operate to complete a scenario (provided below in this document)
Please view the attached document for more detailed information before bidding.
Only serious coders please.
Code must also be well commented in English.
