I'm looking for a web programmer with HP GL experience to develop the basic structure of a website that will allow registered visitors to preview images of HP GL graphics through the web, and also be able to send the graphic to their local printing device.
I have thousands of HP GL items on a MySQL database. There is a text field that does have the HP GL commands, and some other fields for the customer "navigation" in the database.
I want the customer to navigate through the database until it reaches the desired item, and then press VIEW to have a preview of the item on the browser.
Ideally the preview will be inside of a Flash module, so that it will be protected from the user trying to save the image. The viewer should automatically scale the screen to fit the drawing, and the user must be able to move around, zoom in and out, etc in the preview with some command keys on the side.
Once the user decides that it wants the item printed, there should be a button on the side that will validate the number of "credits" that the user does have first and then send the HP GL to the desired printer of the user.
The user printer will most likely be a plotter, connected with generic/txt driver from Windows, and the printout is not to send the graphic, but rather sent the raw HP GL commands exactly as retrieved from the database.
There is no need of extensive website look design, just basic implementation. Essentially it will have the new user register page, a login page, a credit purchase page (using paypal), the item search/navigation until it can preview the image, then the preview as described before and the send to printer.
You should have large experience with HP GL, and I'm not looking to buy commercial solutions, but rather own my customized one.
You should provide all source code for all modules, no closed flash modules or dll's. Once project is completed and paid, we should own the material free and clear.
Application should support all HP GL / HP GL/2 commands, and be with documentation (comment lines) inside of it describing what is doing. Please have organized code.
I'm a startup and budget is not large (expecting $250 to $400) but can be flexible depending on your experience and final quality. Please let me know your bids, even if it's higher than expected.
An example file of the hpgl is attached to this project. It's a plain text file with the commands, exactly as you will be retrieving from the mysql text field. The file is exactly what needs to go to the customer printer once they select to print.
