I am looking for a solution to prevent a PC from being started (booted) without a user password being entered. I believe what needs to be done is a system dll needs to be replaced and the boot sector encrypted (?) so that when the PC is switched on, prior to getting to the Windows logon screen, a dialog box appears asking for a Password. If this password is correct it allows Windows to boot up. 1) It must not be possible to boot from a floppy to overide this process nor hit F8 as part of windows, or any other means to get to the system or to go to the Dos prompt. 2) Based on the password entered, the person is automatically signed on to the system at the Windows logon screen. As such the persons entered password would have looked up a small encrypted database file to get the User and Password to pass to the windows Logon screen so it automatically flows through. There is no need to write the application to create and manage the database. This I will do. Try these as examples ; [url removed, login to view] ** [url removed, login to view] [url removed, login to view]
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Win98 Win2000 Win XP VC++ ( I guess ) maybe VB6 ?
