We are in the process of developing an electronic publishing service and require an expert or team of experts who can create a Macromedia Flash Paper clone.
Update: We are now only seeking a VC++, Windows version, only. We have separate source code for virtual printer driver, pdf creation and flash creation. The goal of this project is two part: Develop a Stand-alone application that integrates with windows applications as a menu item and provides the ability to virtually print any document into both a SWF file as well as a PDF file while retaining search and link/bookmark functionality.
The standalone application will function as both a "writer" and a "reader". Please review the link below for more details.
Required skills include VC++ as well as Flash/actrionscript.
There are two key parts that are requested but are optional: Office integration and PDF creation. The primary purpose is to create a stand-alone application that can be used to create flash documents that retain book marks and are highly searchable and a mechanism to either save locally or publish these documents to our web site (based upon a user id and password entered into the application) directly from within the application.
Published document should look very much like a published document from Flash Paper.
Proposal should include serial number, key, authentication solution.

Any sample applications that you could show me to demonstrate your level of expertise would be helpful. I am both concerned with appearance as well as functionality.
The actual application (Flash Paper) was probably written in VB/VB.net or VC++, thus the restriction that they have for a Windows OS. If we could develop a Flash or Java version that would run under multple OS's (primarily Windows and Mac) that would be ideal.
Otherwise, the creaton of PDF and Flash output would be through a Stand-alone application. My guess is that if it could have been done in Flash it would have been.
The search function is very well described at the macromedia site, see previously supplied link.
Primary: Windows 98 - 2003
Output is flash so any browser that supports flash will support this product.
