For an existing product we need the ability to read the temperature of the CPU and the motherboard. Also interesting is the fan speed.
The system will run on an ASUS P5GDC-V motherboard or a Intel D915GAV motherboard. That is, a W83627EHF (ISA device) sensor monitors the temperature at the ASUS board, and EMC6D103 (SmBus device) monitors at the Intel board**.**
The task for you is:
Develop a library (DLL) able to read the temperature and fan speed from the sensors. The library should be easy to use in our application i.e. it should provide functions as the following independent of sensor used:
double GetCPUTemperature() // Returns the CPU temperature in degrees celcius
double GetMoterboardTemperature() // Returns the motherboard temperature in degrees celcius
int GetCPUFanSpeed() // Retruns the CPU fan speed in RPM
inr GetChassisFanSpeed() // Returns the Chassis fan speed in RPM
If possible the library should automatically determine the used sensor chip, but it might also be a possibility to select the sensor chip manually.
It should be possible to extend the library to support other sensors in the future.
A sample Visual C++ source project of how to use the library must be supplied.
