This is musical software, a metronome/drum machine/music composer that functions much like a clock, with only one rotating arm, It is basically a sequencer, but it goes in a circle instead of a straight line. The top of the circle is always the downbeat. The hand goes around the circle at a variable rate. The basic elements are : An indicator, like a clock hand, that goes around in a circle and points to positions, like the positions on a clock face, activating sounds. Concentric circles, with points equidistant along the circles. These points make sounds if the user selects them. There can be 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, and 16 points around the circle, the user chooses which he wants. These points create sounds. The user can choose (select) between 3, 4 ,5 ,6 ,7, 8, 9, 12, and 16 points placed around the circle. These represent time signatures. The software could be designed as 1 circle, and the user can decide what sound he want at each point along the circle, or 8 concentric circles, each circle represents a different instrument. Going from innermost to outermost, the circles represent 1) Bass Drum 2) Snare drum 3) Tom toms 4) Cymbals 5) Bass guitar 6) Guitar 7) Keyboard 8) Voices I think we should start with simple software, one circle with optional sounds, and then move into more complete music-composing software. In the long term, we will think towards a small display, so the user interface will work with a small screen like PDA, cellphone. Please see [url removed, login to view] for the existing software.
