I would like to have a web based small program created that one can use to format text, suitable for sending by email autoresponders. Usually autoresponder messages need to be formatted to less than 58 or 60 characters per line. I'd like a program that allows you to paste text in, choose how many characters per line you would like by entering a number such as "58" and then submit. Immediately the text is re-formatted to the desired line length, with a hard carraige return at the end of each line. (See [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] for ideas on what this may be similar to) I do NOT want the program to wrap URLS. It must recognize the http:// or www. and leave those lines "as is". I'd also like it to: 1. Be written as a web based program that can be accessed by both IE and Netscape. 2. Have the ability to "undo" what you've done or "revert" back to the original text in case a change is made that is then regretted. 3. Can also convert all text to upper case if needed and vice versa. 4. An additional option is to have it remove > from the beginning of email messages, indent, outdent and so forth. 5. Be intuitive enough to allow the user to select 58 characters then format, then decide they may want 60 or more characters per line and hit "format" again and it "reuses" the same text, now formatting to the new line length. 6. Optional "find and replace" if this is not too much trouble. This is a program we'll be giving away access to for free so we can't allocate a large amount of funds to the creation but will consider all fair bids! Please suggest which language is best to write this program in such as CGI or PHP.
1) Create a fully-functional working program in web based format with complete source code of all work done provided to us in a .zip file. The .zip file will also need to contain full step by step installation instructions. 2) We will retain all rights to the program and the original source code and will have the option to give this program away for free anytime we like or resell it if we so desire. 3) Complete the installation of the fully functional program to our server and send us the URL where it resides so we can test it ourselves. 4) When we are in possession of the files and the program has been installed correctly to our server the project will be complete.
Windows XP, ME, 2000, 98, 95 in all 3.0+ versions of IE and Netscape. Since it will be web based then Mac users can access/use it as well. Would also be nice if Web TV users can access it. Please inform us if this is possible?
## Deadline information
Delivery date is 12/30/2002 at the latest. Please quote with your bid, the approximate date you feel you can deliver this to us. The earlier the better! Since we may need to discuss this project to work out the fine details we prefer to only receive bids from people based in the US or Canada. Our hours of operation are between 8:00 AM PST and 5:00 PM PST so we must be able to talk during that time if necessary.
