My client is in need of a system, preferably written in MS Access 2000 which will enable them to track the booking of rooms/facilities within their establishment. The system should allow my client to also produce invoices which can be printed and presented to their clients. The system should provide the ability to monitor an unlimited number of facilities/rooms (examples being drama theatre, fitness suite and so on) with the ability to block book the room or book individual spaces within. For example, an aerobics class could take places in the gymnasium in which case the instructor may wish to book the entire room themselve, or a martial arts class could be run by the establishment in which there are 20 spaces and they wish to provide individual bookings and invoices for each space. Therefore, the system should allow a price to be set for each room/facility on an individual basis as well as a blook basis. Invoicing of the system should allow my client to specify the hourly or session price however the actual price should be rounded up the to nearest quarter of an hour, therefore a price for the fitness suite might be £3/hour however a client may wish to hire a place for 1hr 30mins in which case they would be charged £4.50 (hopefully this is clear enough). Please see other specifications in documentation attatched, which include the full description. Many Thanks Matt Jellings

Hi coders, firstly thank you for your interest in this project, your time and efforts in posting messages to myself is greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately I missed a small detail off the original specifications for the project, this being that along with the usual details stored about a contact/client in the system, my client also wishes to be able to specify how long in advance that person may book a facility/room, e.g. select that they can book 1week, 2weeks or 3weeks or not at all. Then when that person requests a room to book the user inputting the request will be notified if they are trying to book a room further ahead in time than they are allowed. There is no reason for you to respond to this message unless neccessary (mainly as I struggle to reply to all the messages as it is), but please allow for this change in your bids.

Hi Coders, appologies for not mentioning this in the last broadcast however I forget to inform you that my client is an educational institute and therefore I have difficulty in contact my client in order to discuss important things (such as budget which will play a big part in which coder gets chosen).
I am happy to inform you that the decision has been made to not use MS Access for the system as the IT department of my client has recently purchased the full version of MS SQL Server so an SQL backend with a VB/.NET front end or even ASP which some of you have suggested is fine. Also can I please reinforce the fact that the system needs to cope with multiple users logged in at the same time etc.
I'll try and contact my client as soon as I can however please be patient as I may need to extend the bidding deadline to keep the project open whilst discussions take part.
