Simple SQL problem

I have a single instance SQL 2000 database server with 2 databases on it. These databases are called database1 and database2. I need to update rows in a table (table2) in Database2 with data from a view in Database1 (ViewA). The tables in Database1 which host the data for ViewA are updated via transactional replication from another server. Table2 in database2 has triggers which update clients at row level, so I think i have to maintain the structure of this table to preserve the triggers. Can I use transactional replication on the same server to replicate transactionally replicated tables? Should I use linked servers or distributed queries....? Is there such a thing as a distributed update query? Basically how can I achieve the above. correct solution will win $10.
