We're soon going to be producing a website for an organisation here in the UK, and need a semi-interactive map of the UK (probably needs to be in Flash).
We really liked what one company did for the website here: [url removed, login to view]
We're going to be having users sign-up for a members section, and at the beginning of the signup form want them to be able to select which area of the UK they reside in. I think a map similar to the one on the above site, with the expanding "counties" appearing for each area of the UK selected, so the user can further choose which county they're in, would be great.
Once the county was selected, we'd then need this to lead into a form that is relevant for their county/group of counties to signup their membership. (This way, we can send any information about courses, etc... specific to their region and/or county, once their membership is active).
We will also need to use the same map for different purposes on the site. But presumably, once one version of the map has been created, we'll then be able to re-generate new copies of the map, with different functions, for each section of the site on which we want to feature it - so long as we're given instructions about how to change the links that each area/county goes to.
Please get in touch for further clarification about this, as I've posted here as a last resort as well as contacting other "mapping" organisations.
