I am in need of someone who can create a fairly basic and fun community driven website that will take some influence from reddit/digg and use the idea of a "democratic" community voting system. You will be allowed to have almost complete creative freedom in order to meet the basic requirements of the functions this website should cover. Some basic functions will be to require registration for community members who want to participate in the community, but can still view content as visitors. (possibly kind of similar and simple as to how [url removed, login to view] lists content but how I will want it is going to be a bit different (think, threaded posts using colapsing divs and some other things. We can get into further details on that in PM).
You can also continue working on this project after the initial release to add further features and we can discuss payment for those enhancements later on.
I need to be somewhat vague because it is an idea that may be easy to copy if I give too many details. But it will be a project very much worth your while due to the simplicity of the design the web UI can be (simple ajax throbbers, text insert/submission, etc.) because I believe in very simple and clean User Interfacing and also coding.
I will agree to a portion paid up front until project completion. The budget for this will be low as it will be initially a low end, simple website.
The reason why I am getting a freelancer is to find a reliable set of extra hands to help me initially develop this and possibly the initial creation of other websites in the future while my time is divided amongst other existing projects.
By my estimation, if I were to do this myself, it should only take 2 or 2.5 weeks to complete. However if your scheduling says it takes longer that is fine.
