News site that summarizes stories from mainstream news sources. This is done by an admin adding RSS feeds from a news website in the control panel and instead of displaying the normal rss headline link - the site "grabs" incoming headline text and description contained in the rss. This information is then put into a page template and put in rotation on the site with a link for registered users of the site to submit a selection of text from the original article. Therefore, an unfinished page on the site displays the news headline, date & source with link to original article and preview text (automated). A FULL page displays all the previous information, plus a selection of text from the article (that was submitted by a human).
Content is divided into categories (US, World News, Business, Tech, Politics, etc) and sources (Associated Press, Reuters, Washington times, etc), as well as a "wire" section which displays the days incoming headlines in real time. these three sections (categories, sources and the wire) need to be available to viewers in both rss and customizable JavaScript syndication (where a user can customize how many headlines to show and how they appear and then receive an html code that they can paste on their website or blog).
These are the sites main features - further smaller details to be discussed later. Site structure needs to be able to accommodate hundreds of thousands of pages in its database.
