I currently have an installation of PHPProBid and need a custom modification for the search function.
Currently, when doing a search for a product (for example "printer"), PHPProBid returns the results correctly but on the left side it also shows the ENTIRE category tree, such as Antiques, Books, Computing, Clothing, etc. even though they don't contain any product with the name "printer".
You can try it on [url removed, login to view] and do a search for "printer", you'll see the category tree on the left. What I need is for PHPProBid to show ONLY the categories that actually contain products with the search term. If the results for "printer" are only "Computing", then I need it to only show "Computing" on the left side.
The same goes for sub and sub-sub categories. It should always only show the categories on every level that actually contain a product with the searched keywords.
Additionally, I need it to show a counter besides the category that shows how many items are in the category that match the searched terms.
PHPProBid also has a functionality to "browse" instead of search, which then shows all products. Obviously, if someone browses then it should show all categories and also the count of all items in every category. I *already have* a modification that shows the count for categories when browsing, so that's not needed to be done.
I only need to have the search function modified.
The website [url removed, login to view] is actually doing this with PHPProBid, so you can take a look there how I need it. Do a search for "laser" on [url removed, login to view] and you'll see that it only shows the categories that contain items with the word "laser" and the actual count of items with that keyword.
That is what I need! Can you do it? Let's start! :)
