Hello, My name is Kyle Leissner, and I am planning on starting a new dialup and DSL ISP. I have just bought the domain names [login to view URL] and [login to view URL]; these will be the domain names I will use for my new ISP. A month ago I posted this project, but didn’t find a coder due to the fact that I was asking to little for what I wanted to be done. This time I have found a program called RBS ISP that will handle the billing and radius. I have also found a very experienced web designer, so I will not be needing a website designed anymore as well. Now all I need is a system admin/ programmer to setup a few programs, and make them work together. This job will not require a lot of programming. I am looking for a very experienced person. Here are my requirements I would like the person to have, but if you don’t meet some of them that is fine, as long as you can get the job done: • Have successfully setup an ISP before • Have experience in running an ISP • Be able to work weird hours and weekends • Provide you own computer and high-speed connection to work on • Be able to provide me with a phone number to contact you at, even though most communications will be via Internet • Speak English fluently • Know the business aspects of running an ISP • Must be very smart and creative • Be able to chat via internet chat program • Provide references from the ISP you worked at • Show samples of your previous work • Successfully installed the programs and/or services I am wanting you to install Please state in your bid the requirements that you meet and don’t meet. Please also state if you have ever installed any of the programs stated below, and if so which ones. I have listed in the Deliverables section below what I want done as it won't all fit in this description text box:
I will need the following setup: To give my users email accounts, I will need you to setup an email service for the domain name fiberisp.com. I will need you to install Cyrus for the IMAP & POP3 service ([login to view URL]) and Postfix for the SMTP service ([login to view URL]). For webmail I would like you to use a program called IMP made by http://horde.org. To install IMP you must install the Horde Application Framework, and then install Modules for it (for example IMP is a module for the Horde Framework). There are many current modules available, you can see a list of the modules available and a brief description on each one located here: [login to view URL] You may also see a brief description of each module here: [login to view URL] I would like the following modules installed: • Horde • Genie • IMP • Ingo • Juno • Kronolith • MIMP • Mnemo • Nag • Sam • Sork • Trean • Turba • Imap Proxy (Maybe, I don’t Know) I have heard these are fairly easy to install, but then again I am not sure. Some are still in development or beta, and you might run into a few bugs. I have never installed any of these, so I don’t know. I suggest you read the [login to view URL] website as well as ask any questions you have about them using their support lists([login to view URL]) before bidding. I will also need you to change the colors and images as well, which is very, very easy html. I would also like you to put limits on some things such as how many emails per hour, how many address per email, ect. to reduce spam. I think this is done through Postfix settings, but then again I am a business man, not a programmer, and am not sure. I want the system to be spam proof, stable, and secure. I suggest you know a lot about email in general if you are going to bid. You will also have to setup a MySQL database I am sure for the email settings, and mail. The second project I will need you to do is setup a mini hosting service. I will be giving each of my users say 20MB of personal webspace just like the other ISPs provided. I basically want to make a geocities style service, just like geocities gives the user the domain name [login to view URL] I will give my users [login to view URL] to build on. I hope that makes sense. I heard it is very easy to setup hosting on Linux. I was thinking there has got to be an online script like geocities has developed that lets users upload files, edit files, create files, ect... for free online somewhere. Does anyone know of a program? Maybe you could find one at [login to view URL] and list the program you would install in your bid. That is basically all I need done. There won’t be a lot of programming needed to be done, mainly just a lot of installing as you can tell. I would not like to spend a lot of money on this, as it doesn’t seem to be a real hard thing to do, just too advanced for me. Please post any questions. If I pick you to do the project, and you successfully complete it in a mannerly time, I have a lot more work for you to do. Please also state what languages you know how to program in, and what is your hourly rate? Thanks, Kyle Leissner CEO of [login to view URL] 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
