Hello everyone, My name is Jonathan Regan :) Recently, Yahoo introduced a new feature called SiteExplorer [url removed, login to view] This new system allows a webmaster to see how many pages are listed in the Yahoo search engine, and how many pages are pointing to any given domain. This is very useful info ... I own several domains, and would like you to build me a fairly simple database, that queries Yahoo, and records the number of pages that are currently in the database, and the amount of pages that are pointing to a given domain (for a batch of domains I own) ... You can either parse this information, or use the friendly API option that Yahoo has just announced (much easier!): [url removed, login to view] The script that you develop should allow me to add a list of domain names to be monitored. For instance, I have a text file with over 50 domain names in it. Each domain name is on a seperate line. I would like to simply upload this to the script, and then it will query Yahoo to determine how many pages are listed in its index, and how many are pointing. The fields for on-screen display will be: Name of Domain Pages Indexed Pages Pointing Also, if possible - I would like you to show the "highest" amount ever. So for instance - today I might have 100 pages listed, but next to this field, would be my all time highest (which perhaps could be 157) etc. Simple enough? Please check my Scriptlance reputation before bidding. I'll be hiring you to extend this project in the future. Thanks. Jonathan P.S. - I don't think a cron job will be required. Perhaps just a button I click to see "updated" results etc.
