Oscommerce cost based prices, different price levels.

INTRODUCTION

We have an oscommerce online shopping cart, with the contribution “separate prices per customer” this contribution generates customer groups ID’s, so in the MySQL tables there are one table for customer groups and one table for customer prices where you can create different Price groups and you link this price with the group’s ID.

Example:

“Cost group” item_abc cost is: $10 usd.

“Guest group” item_abc price is: $30 usd

“Retailers group” item_abc price is: $60 usd

We can create as many groups as we want, and we can set customers accounts to be in one group, for example our bests customers see the “cost group” prices, but if you are new to the site and you register you will see the “guest group” prices.

The problem with this contribution is, if we want to change a cost we have to go manually and change the other price levels in each group.

WHAT WE NEED:

We want a “cost bases” system so we only want to change the “cost group” and we want the other groups to be automatically changed, we not necessary need this “separate prices per customer system” it can be other system too, the only thing we want is to create different groups.

Example:

“cost group” item_abc price is: $10

“guest group” item_abc price is: FORMULA=”cost group” * 3 = $30 usd

“Retailers group” item_abc price is: FORMULA=”cost group” * 6 = $60 usd
