52 card Solitaire to teach English
Step1 Word to picture match to learn words(demo learn_eng_solitaire)
Step2 Reconstruct 4 sentences (one for each suit) which are each split into 4 3-word phrases, by placing cards onto holding space, as in all Solitaire games, in reverse order :
Cards have NO numbers, but each has image of KEY word in the phrase.
Player must use image to find correct position of sentence fragment
Phrase units, words and sentences have audio, using Text-to Speech program
The game is based on the classic freecell http://games.aarp.org/games/freecell.aspx
but the important point is that the cards do not have numbers. In order to know whether a card can be placed in the right sequence the player has only the clue of the image. This image will be taught in the first "round" of the game.
For example, to be very simple, if the phrase was 'the cat/ sat /on the mat'
The player would be taught an image matching 'the cat' etc
then when the cards are laid, he knows only 'sat' can follow in sequence to 'the cat'. He does not need a number to know which card can be laid in the correct sequence.
So, there must be a complete 'learning ' round with Flash cards. Followed by a classic freecell, in which cards have no numbers but rather an image as the identifier.
