I've installed zen cart for a client and customised it to look like the client's previous site. I am almost finished but have come across 2 small issues that I need a php coder to sort out for me. The first is to get an image in each category to link to its appropriate subcategory. I reckon this should take fifteen minutes to do for someone who knows how to do it - I can point you to the two files in zen cart which deal with this as well as the coding I've successfully implemented for the text in the same categories that achieves this. I only need some advice on how to do it for an inserted image.
The second is to create a drop-down menu (html select menu) on the page containing a list of the subcategories that lists the higher level categories for that section. For example, under 'kitchens' there are 4 different kitchen collections. When the site visitor clicks on one of the collections they are taken to a page listing the kitchens in that collection. On this latter page I want a drop-down menu that lists and links back to the 4 main kitchen collections; this way the visitor can always navigate easily. There are 9 different sections - kitchens, wardrobes, flooring, etc. - some containing collections others just linking through to products. I need someone to code for the kitchen collections and allow me to see how that is done so I can do this for the rest of the sections and code new sections as and when needed by the client in future.
A simple job really. I am a designer not a programmer though I am used to configuring open source php and perl systems. I would like to see how useful the scriptlance system is so that I may rely on it to handle the programming work in the future while I concentrate on what I do best - designing and selling.
