I wish to to have a web-based script which can list files in one directory on a server and allow those files to be selected for ffmpeg conversion with maybe a few options and then have the converted file dumped to another directory.
The directory path's would be hard coded in a config file. ffmpeg options would be for quality control of the output flv file such as "mobile", a "Half Meg DSL", or a "Full Quality" output. These form options may also be modified via a config file (or directly in the php file) likely making use of ffmpeg API commands. But what do I know!
Multiple copies of the script will be running within a shared hosting environment and will need to run independantly. The script will only be required to rip and store local files. I am no pro, but I would assume for ease of programming and security it would only list and rip files in the directory it is running, and output to the dirctory specified in the config file. In-case it matters (althouh I dont think it does) the directory's in question may also be set to requier authentication.
Once the script is working the selected programer will be required to install and configure ffmepeg on a CentOS5 VPS before testing the scrip on my system.
Depending on costs and the reputation of the programmer payment will be made up-front escrow will not be needed.
Use of OpenSource code is encouraged, and thus keeping this script under GPL is desired, though not required.
