My friend and I have been working on a golf news web site for 4 years now. For me, the webmaster, it has been a 'as time is available' project. Thus the site is not looking that great. My friend is the content editor and reporter and has managed to do a great job at learning Mambo (want to upgrade to Joomla this winter). The problem is that we have reached a point that if we do NOT improve this site for the 2007 golf season (which starts in February here) he is going to lose banner advertisers. He has a tiny budget to pay someone to do the work.
It is not a difficult job to do this project as it's using almost exclusively Mambe/Joomla's straight out of the box tools (components and modules). He needs someone to do design work (templates and banner ads, etc.) but also someone to help design the site with features he's wanting to have.
And all being well someone who is available in iChat (Mac OSX) or SKYPE for voice chats when he runs into trouble with something. (Did I mention that he's 67 years old!!!?)
Consider this a labour of love for the sport of golf. But you can earn a bit of money. The worst part of your work will be the beginning as you make changes and learn what he wants. Once that part is over, it'll be easy work and he'd consider having you on as a retainer.
Include references to work you have done so we can make an assessment easily.
It'd be even nicer if you were in BC Canada, but that's not a requirement.
Thanks for reading to the end of this long message.
