I need to find a replacement developer for the website: www.myalternativefamily.com. The role may end up being permanent, in that I would like to contract on a rolling monthly basis and pay in accordance with work done at the end of the month (I will consider part-payment upfront for those developers with a proven track record). But for the time being, this project is temporary(freelancer.com staff, take note!).
The website is built on a joomla platform, and is highly complex with a lot of plug-ins, and CSS customisation. Therefore, the successful developer will need to be highly skilled in joomla, CSS, HTML, social networks generally and all programming languages / systems used on the site. It is likely that you will need to spend a fair bit of time familiarising yourself with the network and talking me through the inner workings of the site.
The work itself will consist of BOTH maintenance work (admin, uploading content, sorting out bugs and glitches, trouble shooting, etc) AND more substantive work (making the site more SEO friendly, adding features and components). If I am happy with your work, month on month, I will be able to commission larger projects such as adding an e-commerce store, building an i-phone ap for the site, etc.
I am currently on a tight budget, but am in the process of securing serious funding for this site - I am therefore looking for a developer who believes in the site enough to be considerate of my budget constraints until I have secured the funding - once I have the funding, I will be much more able to remunerate more generously.
The developer in question must be organised and skilled at project management. I will expect frequent updates and time reports. I am very resasonable and am happy to consider and provide extensions of time to deadlines - however, I would expect the developer to honour and respect deadlines - this has been a real problem for me with freelancers so far!
Given that I've been stung many times by freelancers on puntuality and reliability, I will need to operate via freelancer (with access to dispute resolution and review systems) for the first few months - once the developer has proven his or her reliability, I am happy to pay direct.
Finally, I am an experienced employer and have worked with freelancers for a long time. I know what kind of bids are reasonable. For your bid to be successful, I would expect you to have properly considered this brief and taken on board my present budget constraints. Be reasonable and considered in your bid. Please also let me know why are sympathetic to the mission of www.myalternativefamily.com.
Many thanks and kind regards
