I have a php based admin system that I use to allow my clients to update their website. It uses a flat file database rather than mysql. Generally its pretty good but needs some improvement in the areas below.
You must be an outstanding PHP coder and also have a good idea of implementing ajax scripts.
General overview of areas it needs some tweaks:
1. Page ID manipulation. (The admin currently uses Page ID numbers for each page which are called from the front end via a php line of code to display the page created in the admin). I cannot edit these IDs for the pages created and would like to do so. Also, if i delete a page in the admin, then that ID is lost forever and when creating new pages it skips that ID number so this is another fault that needs fixing.
2. There is currently an option in the admin to "inactivate" a page which means it will keep the page there in the admin but will not show its content on the front end. However, I would like an option so that i can select the page title not to show, but the content of the page to show. This is handy for dynamic menus so that clients can still edit the content of the page which shows in parts of the site however does not need to show on the menu.
3. Page ordering (something like [url removed, login to view])
4. I have some 3rd party php standalone scripts such as calendars and forms etc each with their own simple admin. I would like these combined into the admin so that they authenticate from the main admin login, and for the super admin to enable or disable the features for the admin. Note that these 3rd party scripts are non-encrypted and standalone as they have their own admin - very simple to embed into my admin.
I can give you login details to see the admin and discuss more.
If you have any other ideas to improve this admin I will be open to any suggestions, particularly on the ajax side as i like ajax effects.
The type of person I am looking for is someone who can show some dedication to this project and work with me until it is perfect. You must enjoy problem solving and improving things. If your the person, lets talk.
P.S Chris your mailbox is full - ive sent you a message about this post.
