We need a PHP web page that renders online store front pages based on a mySQL database. You will be provided with the database schema to use and a template of the HTML page that is to be displayed on the client machine (so you don't have to worry about color/layout/font). The design work is done, we just need a PHP coder to do the dirty work. The HTML page has a logo header and a menu on the left that lists categories/subcategories of products (the products and their categories are to be extracted from the database, and are expected to be in a constant state of change). The menu should not be javascript. When the user clicks on a shrink/expand of the menu or on a category itself, the page will reload with the new state of the menu on the left and the product list on the right. All of the product information will come from the database. We use PayPal as our merchant account, so all you have to include are the simple PayPal HTML forms for each product (a template will be provided). All the payment processing and shopping cart functionality is handled by the PayPal website. The database is desgined to handle nested categories to any depth, so the menu needs to support this. There is text box for searching and a check box to indicate whether or not the search is confined to the currently selected category. When the user clicks the search button, the database is searched for occurances of the search string, and a list of matching products is displayed on the page. The menu will list 2 categories in addition to those specified by the database: "home" and "search results". The "Home" will list featured products (defined in the database), and the "search results" will list the products that match the last search. When users click on other categories, the search results category will remember the last search and the resulting list of products. The page will be the same for all searches and all categroies (only the menu items on the left and the list of products will change).
