I have a small office with 2 windows 2000 servers and about 5 workstations. The computers are networked right now on a simple workgroup. I have a feeling the network is not set up properly, it takes a while to access files on a network computer and right now users log in using administrator accounts in all the workstations to be able to share files.
One server is currently on the workgroup, the other one is not. I need normal network configuration, where users log in not as administrators and they share files. I don’t know if I want to put a domain or not but I do know I don’t want users to log in as administrators. I would prefer to share one login across computers so I don’t have to deal with profiles. Users don’t need emails and documents will reside on the server.
I need fax services on one of the servers so users can see received faxes from their computers and send faxes out. Also, a local web server (internal use) and email server set up.
Sharing a couple of printers and DNS configured properly so that access to the network computers is fast.
One of the two servers has an internet connection but all the other workstations only need very limited access (a couple of web sites and nothing else).
Basic drive to drive backup (copy shared files from one server to the other. I use second copy for this).
You can work on the 2 servers through remote desktop connection. I just need a few instructions to set up the rest. I could most of this myself but I just don’t have the time.
If there is anything else that needs to be done, please feel free to bring it to my attention. I will choose somebody very quickly to work on this.
