GPS Info & Entry Data Collector (on PDA) and sending to server

Client Application works on PDA with GPS device and collects data from User Entry and GPS device. After collection sends as XML (SOAP) to webserver.

Data to be collected:

1. Location details :

Coordinates must be taken with a maximum available precision, which depends on type of GPS receiver and measuring methodology;

2. Dynamic Data (user entry):

1..N fields(values) associated with above location.

Each field, once announced, must retain "Filed Name", "Field Type" and "Field optional" attributes. This will allow old version of this application to work smooth and assure data integration with backend database.

Based on these XML-format is a most adaptable. Format of XML data to capture fully database-driven. Application, before opening GUI for data collection, connects to the server and identifies the number and type of data to be captured (XML Schema).

Data transaction:

Every POST transaction from device must consist encrypted credentials of particular agent (username+password), installed version, Location Details(1), Dynamic Data(2). This will allow to avoid sessions at all (authenticated sessions).

Data transport:

Clent-Server transport level - internet (via GPRS).

Client could be: Java Application (MIDP2.0 on CLDC) or .Net Compact Framework 1.0 for Windows Mobile 5.0. with any GPS API. To increase development time please use any of middleware like [url removed, login to view]

Server side :

Data transactional server with XML protocol support [url removed, login to view] with Relational Database (MySQL) to store all data.
