My website [url removed, login to view] is built with X-Cart. There’s a minor bug in Features_Comparison Module. I’d like to have it fixed.
I use X-Cart Features_Comparison Module for product comparison on my website www.vonbell.com.
The “Product features chart” generated by Features_Comparison Module displays prices right below each product titles. Prices displayed are correct for non-subscription products. However, they are incorrect for subscription products.
I’d like to have this bug fixed.
For example, if you go to [url removed, login to view], select and compare these two products: “Residential Unlimited Plan” and “Business Unlimited Plan”, you will see “Price:$29.99” is right below both product titles.
This is incorrect. I want them to say: “$29.99 setup fee + $24.99 / Month” below “Residential Unlimited”, and “$29.99 setup fee + $39.99 / Month” below “Business Unlimited”.
Cause of this Bug:
The prices displayed in “Product features chart” are presented by this variable: $v.taxed_price in file /skin1/modules/Features_Comparison/[url removed, login to view], on Line 110 and Line 164. This variable represents purchase price of non-subscription products.
However, for subscription products such as a monthly subscription, this price $v.taxed_price represents ONLY initial setup fee, not monthly subscription price.
It makes better sense to display both setup fees and periodic subscription prices instead of setup fee ($v.taxed_price) in this case.
File [url removed, login to view] and other related files should be modified so that both setup fees and subscription prices will be displayed for subscription products.
I submitted a ticket regarding this bug to X-Cart.
I was given two choices. Either I order a custom project from X-Cart for $25 to fix this bug. Or, I will have to wait for X-Cart next version release which will include this bug fix for free. The problem with the first choice is that X-Cart custom projects queue is about 5 weeks at the moment. It will be even longer to wait for X-Cart next version release.
I’m posting this project here in hope that someone can start and complete this project much sooner than what X-cart quoted me. I’m willing to pay up to $25.00 for this project.
This is a very simple task for someone who knows PHP. Familiarity with X-Cart is very helpful but may not be necessary. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Thanks!
