Client [url removed, login to view] needs the following: I would like a quote on some programming. I want my users to have the ability to find ads near their home. For instance, they should be able to search for all ads within a 5, 10, 25 or 100 mile radius of their home. All of my ads require the input of a zip code, so, for example a user in Weston who is looking for ads nearby would search for all ads within 25 miles of zip code 33331. Please let me know how much this would cost. Would I get a better price if I also had programming done to give me the ability to put different advertising banners on individual pages within my site?
Here are the things I am considering doing to my site:
1. I only have 1 website, where people list the equivalent of classified ads. You can see it at http://www.caretotrade.com. Each ad requires the user to input their city, state & zip code. What I want is a search option where a user can put their zip code and/or city and find ads that have been listed within a certain radius, such as 25 miles. My website already has the ability to search for ads...I just want to be able to search according to distance.
When you say I'll have the option to refine the data and add new data, what do you mean?
2. I want the ability to place banners for my advertisers within specific categories on my site. For instance, I would like for a car transport company ad to appear within my "automotive" category. The way I have it right now, I am forced to have all advertising banners appear on every page.
3. When a user is looking at a category such as cars, all of the classified ads are listed in full detail. click this to see what I mean: http://caretotrade.net/marketplace/index.php?method=showhtmllist&list=classifiedscategory&rollid=24&fromfromlist=classifiedscategory&fromfrommethod=showhtmllist&fromfromid=22&clearoff=1
Is it possible to make it so these pages only show the title and picture show? That way, the user will know to click the title, which will lead them to the details.
4. The way the site was built, my users can only submit ads or reply to ads when thesy are logged in. Therefore, the "submit ad" and "reply to this ad" buttons only appear when the user is logged in...this is confusing for them. Is it possible to always show "reply to this ad" in an ad, and always show "submit an ad," and then when a user clicks on those buttons, they are asked to login or register if necessary? For the "submit an ad" button to appear this way, this would require a list of all of my subcategories to be shown to the user, who must choose the right one.
If this is confusing, please ask any necessary question. I would like to know how much each item would cost, and how much better you could do if I did all of them. You may reach me here by email
