Help us block image files from directly being linked from our domain

Hi! It would be to do with htaccess if your webserver is Apache and not IIS or nginx, or any other for that matter. So, is it Apache? Also, all these files you want to restrict 'leeching' for are held in one single directory sub-tree or across multiple directory sub-trees? And also you need to share some information on how these are intended to be loaded as/from too. Like is it allowed these to be loaded on external domains, and only directly typing the full URI ina browser address bar is what needs to be restricted, or it's only the local domain(your domain) that these should be allowed to be loaded from?
