importing and managing mySQL database imports

I have 2 CSV files containing products that I sell on my website.

I need to be able to upload these files via PHPMyAdmin to 2 tables. I then need the ability to import this data into 3 different tables. I need to ensure that no duplicate products are inputted and no products that do not contain certain data such as product descriptions.

I also need to check daily that I have no products listed on my site that are not listed in either of these csv files. if there are products listed that are not on either csv files I would like them removed from the databse.

Anyone familiar with oscommerce will know that there is a table called porducts_to_categories which contains an autonumber generated when products are added. then a category ID is inputted which then links the product to a specific category. I see no easy way of doing this other than manually adding the relevant category numbers. I would like a query to allow me to do this in bulk. such as if product type is cable add 36. Then I will do category by category.

Finally in some of my unique products IDs in my csv files have an * in the end of the text which is causing me issues. I need this removed along with the spaces. here is an example

"ID1034 *" - wrong

"ID1034" - correct

I hope this meakes sense. I can provide more information when required.

I am on a very tight budget so am unsure if anyone will be able to do this
