We need help to create a small Opencart module, which is the start of a larger module that will allow customers to interact with our website in a specific way.
The first part of the module is the serial number entry and needs to enter data and retrieve data from a serial numbers table. We will add the table with the following 7 fields.
Ref - (For Admin only)
Customer Ref - (Entered by Admin with the customer account number in our internal system)
Printer Manufacturer - Customer entry or Admin entry - Display
Printer Series - Customer entry or Admin entry - Display
Printer Serial Number - Customer entry or Admin entry - Display
Date Purchased - Customer entry or Admin entry - Display
Purchased From - Customer entry or Admin entry - Display
The fields can have data entered into them by the customer or by the company admin. After the data has been entered it should be stored in the database table. The data should be displayed on a serial number page on the website.
The idea is that a customer or the company admin can enter details of printers and presses that we supply cartridges or parts for. We need a data entry section and a report section that lists the equipment and information that a customer has. The information is displayed on a serial numbers page
This page will show customers serial numbers and printer information in the following fields. Display and admin fields, only display fields will show information.
We will add more information to the tables and may split tables to be more efficient as we go down the line with this but for now we want to start with something simple to see how it pans out.
