I posted this two weeks ago and had to stop going forward with it until I researched the copyright issue and give the original programmer a chance to respond. I'm ready to move forward and in URGENT need of these repairs and additions.
Have two sites that have existing custom php code to run model horse and model dog photo contests. Current code has errors that needs to be found and fixed. I'm not sure if the errors are in the actual code or in the MySQL databases as they were performing correctly for a couple of years up until two weeks ago. Also I need additional modules written up and one minor code change for each site.
BOTH SITES: [url removed, login to view] & [url removed, login to view]
Error #1: Both programs can be judged either by a multiple judge format of highest numerical placement. Or by a single judge that is assigned by the moderator using a manual override.
It is achieved my clicking on a list of all the judge's names from a drop down menu. The override displays on the site as being in place when aactivated but no longer shows the judge's name in each class nor does it tabulate the single judge's placings in the results. It instead reverts back to the multiple judge format consistently. NOTE* The manual override would not be a necessity if a new
module(s) was written for generating championship photos (see below)
Error #2: Both programs now give a placement to every entry in the class. It is supposed to only give 1st thru 4th for the model dogs and 1st thru 6th for the model horses.
New Modules Needed:
1) Both programs require new modules added to make program generate additional final championship photos for judging. Both modules need to be written to the existing program that will generate all the first place winners of each class and put them into an additional final class for a grand and reserve champion (term for horses) and a best in group or best in division (for dogs) Judge will need to see the winning photos for each first place winner after they finish judging their last class on the list.
2) For both clubs if there a way to have the past shows keep their results. They are always changing. If someone deletes their entry the results change; as when you click on any link displaying any results; the program continuously re-generates the results. Can there be a permanent link of a result for each previously held show that holds the same content from the day the show ended?
3) For both clubs the current code has the past shows listed as archived. But the list is getting really long. If there was a way to have the results display both in the archives and in current results under a monthly heading. MDH holds 23 different shows every other month. IMEHA hold 14. They are all stacked one after other and hard for old eyes to find them.
Minor Change in the Code:
Both sites need the code changed to display the photos in the class, in the results and on their my models page to show their photos at 450 pixels, not the current 400.

It needs a utility feature written that will allow entries from "ikc: type" of show to be moved over to another "type" The main show is for all breeds and it's called IKC. I am writing 10 group club shows listed under types. Right now the shows open for entry are listed on the member's My Model Page under the photo. Since all the dogs are already entered in the all breed show it would be nice to have feature that can also allow entry over into one of the group clubs shows. The "types" were for the 10 different mail in group shows that we want to take online now. So there would be: MHeDC, Model Herding Dog Club, MGuDC, Model Guardian Dog Club, MToDC, Model Toy Dog Club, MTeDC, Model Terrier Dog Club, MNoDC, Model Northern Dog Club, etc. I listed them already, have started writing the classes but stopped when this problem listed above started. The main club IKC is an all breed club so for people like me with 1000 dogs (no kidding) have them all ready entered. If there was someway to have the other types listed on the same entry page? Each "type" or group club have a total of 6 shows in it to cover all the various things like conformation, breeders classes, headstudy, puppy activity, adult performance and fun fantasy. That way entrants wouldn't have to upload their entries photos and information twice.
THE REALLY BIG FISH:
A feature or module that would assign a "winning badge" (much like Pogo or other gaming sites are doing) to each entry that reaches a set number of points from the shows. There would be 4 levels and 4 badges. I have the graphics done already. I just need a really smart programmer to write it up.
Both sites have the same two problems. Both problems probably are linked together. The dog show is supposed to list in the results of the show the placement of 1st thru 4th and the horse show 1st thru 6th. There are now displaying a placement for every entry in the class. There is also a manual override feature that was put in as the original code was written allow for numerical placement of division and grand champions with the highest overall scores winning and coming from multiple judges. But we wanted to have the show go to a single judge system so the coder wrote up a manual override so I could choose the champions from a list of all the entries. The function is also not working and all the previous shows are showing results based on the original code. I am two weeks behind on the championship dog show and members are growing impatience. I would prefer someone who is very knowledgeable about PHP and MySQL and willing to go the extra mile working with an old lady who has trouble trying to tell you what is wrong with the program. I would even consider a whole new program if it would perform what we need but our limited budget would probably restrict us from that idea. We make no money from these shows, it's all for fun.
