We currently have multiple spreadsheets being used to track progress and would like to integrate those as we're experiencing copy/paste issues between the workbooks.
I'm looking to have a primary table with a list of devices, each device has a physical location on the project indicated, a location in the drawings indicated, a project it is associated with, and a number of fields that have dates filled out as a device is wired, installed, checked by quality, signed off by us (OAT), signed off by the customer (FAT). A couple subsets of this:
each device has 3 different types of labels we need to generate from the device list. The labels will be 3 differently formatted excel exports. We would need to select a subset of the device list based on the location on the drawings (the page number).
Another subset is for the quality sign off... There are several different device types, and each device type has a list of things we need to check for completion. Once all of those things are completed, it should populate the field on the primary table. additionally once the devices in a particular area are completed we will need to create a sign off form for those devices in that areas, we can do an excel export for that, but I'd want it to come out preformatted so it's ready to go and we don't have to tweak every document.
Next up is OAT, this is very similar to the quality sign off, there is a list of things that we need to check off for each device, once all of those are completed it should populate the date for the field on the primary table. Again we need to export from this to submit a hard copy to the general contractor.
Next is FAT, it's exactly the same as the OAT just completed by the customer,
We don't need security on the system, but I want each user to select their identity so we can track who signs off what. So If Jon smith signs off the quality portion of a device that would show on the report we generate for that area.
Generally we're getting up to around 10,000 devices on these projects, so if we were to look at a web form I'd want to be comfortable that we're not going to have load time issues. Typically we have 6-8 people who access this data on a daily basis. We could do MS access with the back end hosted on our internal server.
