Job Description:
Table #1:
- 8 columns
- Create and populate with some info from a standardized text file (only needs to be done once)
Table #2
- 13 columns
- With this table we generate a pattern of requests to be made to an API.
- The pattern is generated by a .php file, which is used to generate 5 different types of requests to the API.
The data used to form these requests is stored in this table.
Really, the requests are all pretty similar, with a few variables changing for each request.
The API requests will be made using CURL and the JSON stored in this table.
PHP File #1
- This php file is used to make the requests to an API, which are formed using the data in table #2 above.
- The response from these requests is stored in table #3.
- There are 5 rules that dismiss certain records based on the data in the response.
Table #3
- 15 columns
- Contains the responses from the API requests made in php file #1.
- About 8 of the columns require the data from the response to be manipulated or calculated in some way.
Table #4
- 47 columns.
8 of the columns are just a straight copy from table #3.
30 of the columns are just a straight copy from some other tables that will be provided.
9 of the columns require some data manipulation and calculation using functions that will need to be created.
Speed and rate control
- The php script has 4 simple variables to control the rate of the API requests.
They are stored in PHP File #2.
Maintenance
- The php script has 3 simple variables to delete rows from the tables above, based on age.
They are stored in PHP File #2.
PHP File #2 ([login to view URL])
- Stores about 8 variables used by PHP File #1.
Screen Output
- The PHP script offers some screen output while the functions are being performed.
There are about 17 different output messages, depending on which function is being performed.
The Real Project Plan
- The real project plan obviously contains detailed instructions of what will be performed each step of the way.
