Run a Script on a Database

I have a website, [login to view URL], that was custom built 20 years ago! Some original code is still being used. It's mostly set up with PHP/SQL. I posted about this a couple weeks ago and used a Freelancer to finish many of my tasks, but some still remain. I am happy to develop relations with other Freelancers and to work with them on future projects as well. ***ORIGINAL TASK: I use a custom browser-based manager. The manager lets me use HTML but I often skip it. That is, I could use "<" and A=HREF, etc., to make hot-links. But I don't very often. Such an URL ends up in my article as a "cold link" that a reader has to copy'n'paste to use! I would like my manager to automatically convert any URL I type into a hotlink.*** Now, we got this Task finished as described. The coder built in new code that will convert all URLs typed in stories on my website into hotlinks. So that I don't have to use "<" and "ahref". But more is needed... I have 2000+ articles on my website. Many of the old articles have "cold" URLs. I would like them to be turned into hotlinks as well. The Freelancer said that to do this would require making a script that would run through the database of articles, testing the script on a partial database before letting it run on the whole thing. (I just had my server make a backup of the 65mb database to save time.) Are you maybe interested in this project? Could this be done for $40? Thank you!
